Mercedes crashes into Westside home

18-year-old driver cited, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A black Mercedes crashed into a home in the Big Oak Run neighborhood on Jacksonville's Westside on Thursday evening, authorities said.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on Georgia Jack Drive, just west of Ricker Road.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, four people -- including a 16-year-old who suffered minor injuries -- were inside the home at the time.

Police said the 18-year-old driver of the Mercedes did not have a driver's license, only a learner's permit.

He was cited for careless driving and driving with a learner's permit, police said.

There was minor damage to the car. The house, which has since been boarded up, was reportedly OK to live in, according to police.
