Since April 1, 536 animals have entered the shelter, with 407 of them currently being housed at the shelter.

ACPS said 180 cats and dogs are available for adoption and waiting for someone to bring them home.

For the entire month of April, the shelter is having a Spring "Adopt-A-Thon."

Thanks to the Petco Foundation, there are zero adoption fees.

The shelter, at 2020 Forest St. , is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
