ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Someone broke into a parked pickup truck Wednesday afternoon and stole thousands of dollars stashed inside the center console, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
A man told deputies that he cashed two company checks at a Wells Fargo on County Road 210 West, near St. Johns Parkway, and then put $9,000 in his truck's center console just before 3 p.m.

The man then went inside the next-door Bank of America to perform another transaction.
While the man was inside the bank, deputies said, someone smashed his truck window and took the cash.
No other vehicles were broken into.
