JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jonah Golden was only 19 years old when he was shot to death at a house party on Liska Drive. One year after his death, his mom said she hopes someone is courageous enough to speak up.
"I really just need one person to talk and to tell what happened to him," Rebecca Harp, Golden's mom, said. "One person can crack the case wide open for us."
Golden was at a house party with 40 other people when he was shot and killed. His mother said some people who were at the party aren't talking to police, so she and his family hopes a $8,000 reward and flyers will lead to the truth.
"Every day is a struggle," she said. "Someone please help. I know someone knows something. Please, someone needs to speak up."
Harp said as they wait, they will keep Golden alive through kindness cards. With each act of kindness to one another, they pass it along, carrying love and compassion after a violent and tragic loss.
"It's day by day, sometimes hour by hour," Harp said of dealing with her grief. "My life has been changed. It's unbearable living without him, which is why I have to keep trying to find the person who killed him."
Anyone with information about Golden's death is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-945-8477.
