JSO: Man charged with DUI after street racing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 44-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning after street racing in the South Metro area, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

Johnny Wayne Webster is charged with DUI, racing on highways and unlawful speed.

Just after midnight, police said, they caught Webster speeding on St. Augustine Road. 

He was going 85 mph in a 40 mph zone and appeared to be racing a Ford Mustang in the next lane, according to the arrest report.

When Webster eventually pulled over, his face was flushed red, officers noted. Webster then admitted to racing the other car, police said. 

He was booked into the Duval County Jail.
