Full 'Flower Moon' to rise in sky tonight

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The moon is set to put on a spectacular show in the skies over Jacksonville Wednesday night.

What may look like a normal full moon is actually the "Flower Moon," so-called by Native Americans as it will rise during a time when plants begin to bloom.

Inverse says the Flower Moon will appear to be larger as it is closer to the horizon, and will shine brighter as it will not cross paths with any planets or nearby stars.

Moonrise in Jacksonville is scheduled to begin at 8:05 p.m.
