FORT McCOY, Fla. – An alligator was found Wednesday on the playground of a Marion County school, according to a report from WKMG.

The gator, about 3 feet long, was spotted near the swings outside Fort McCoy School as teachers took their students to the playground.

School Resource Officer Cpl. Anthony Oswald and David Billups, who works at the school, rounded up the gator and released him in a nearby pond.

"Great job Cpl. Oswald and Mr. Billups for keeping our kids safe," the Marion County Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page.
