CRESCENT CITY, Fla. – A dozen students from George C. Miller Middle School in Crescent City were hospitalized Thursday after becoming ill during a field day at the school, a district spokesman said.
The students were taken to Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka as a precaution after they showed signs of weakness and vomiting.
The students were all released from the hospital by the end of the day.
Putnam County School District spokesman Kirk Collier said the district is investigating the incident.
He said there was plenty of water available outside during the field day, but it's unclear if the students were drinking it.
