Annual 'Bring Your Own Cup Day' returning to 7-Eleven

Event Friday, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

7-Eleven is bringing back its annual cup-filling event, "Bring Your Own Cup Day," to kick off the 2017 Slurpee season.

Customers can bring any containers, such as jars, pails, ladles and punch bowls to be filled with their favorite Slurpee. The cost to fill any "cup" of choice is $1.50, the same price as an average medium Slurpee.

The event is taking place at participating 7-Eleven stores on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All cups must be leak-proof, food safe, and sanitary. Also, cups cannot be larger than 10 inches in diameter.

This year, 7-Eleven is getting into the BYOC game with its own colossal collectible cup, shaped like a blender and refillable. Thirsty customers who show up without an oversized cup can purchase the 50-ounce blender cup for $5.99. The new Ultimate Slurp Straw is more than twice as big as a regular straw. Suggested retail price is $0.99.

To encourage social media participation, 7-Eleven is using #BYOCupDay so Slurpee fans can share their creative and colorful cups on different social media platforms.

Snapchat users can follow REALLYSLURPEE for updates about the two-day event. A special BYOCup Day geo-filter is only available at 7-Eleven stores Friday and Saturday. It adds an extra splash of color to snaps of the Slurpee fans unofficially competing for most unusual cup honors.
