Man, woman shot during Northside home invasion

Shooter described as man wearing black jacket with mask over face

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people were shot Thursday night during a home invasion robbery on the Northside, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Police responded around 10 p.m. to a home on Marsh Hen Drive just off Biscayne Boulevard, where a man forced himself in and shot a man and woman.

Police said the man and woman were both shot once.

Both victims, in their 20s to 30s, were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said they are expected to be OK.

J'Atrice Booker lives in the neighborhood and said she was surprised because the neighborhood is ordinarily quiet.

"Nothing happens through this neighborhood," Booker said. "I'm surprised because it's a quiet neighborhood. You barely see people. For something like that to go down, that's crazy."

Police have made no arrests.

The intruder is described as a male wearing a black jacket with a mask over his face.

The investigation is continuing. This article will be updated when more information is received.
