JSO: Man shot, 2 occupied homes hit by gunfire on Northside

Shooting prompts Clyde Drive closure


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot and two occupied homes were hit by gunfire Tuesday night on the Northside, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

Police responded about 7 p.m. to a home on Clyde Drive just off Lem Turner Road where an adult man was in the front yard with a single gunshot wound to his lower extremities.

The man was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two homes with residents inside were also struck by bullets, but no other injuries were reported, police said.

Detectives with the Aggravated Battery Unit will be investigating the incident.

Police said Clyde Drive will be closed in both directions between 5th and 6th avenues until further notice.
