JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on the Duval Road ramp to I-295 southbound early Thursday morning.
Around 3:12 a.m., a woman in a silver 2004 Nissan Maxima was driving southbound on I-295 near Duval Road when the car entered the median, then was steered to the right and traveled into the right shoulder, colliding with a tree, according to police. The driver died at the scene and the passenger was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with critical injuries, troopers said.
