JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 40-year-old man accused of growing marijuana in his Riverside backyard was arrested Friday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators served a search warrant at Benjamin Grimes' apartment on Post Street.

After searching the property, investigators found three plants, growing lights, pots and black tarps, police said in the report.

Grimes was taken into custody in the backyard and faces several charges, including cultivating marijuana, possessing paraphernalia for the manufacture or delivery of drugs and tampering with evidence, police said.

Police said paraphernalia used to grow marijuana appeared to be partially destroyed prior to the search warrant being served.

Grimes was released from the Duval County jail Saturday on $9,000 bail.
