Trump taps Stetson professor for judgeship

President Donald Trump on Wednesday nominated Michael P. Allen, a professor at the Stetson University College of Law, to a judgeship on the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Allen was one of 11 people nominated to federal judgeships in courts across the country, according to a White House news release.

The nominees are subject to Senate confirmation.

Allen has been on the Stetson faculty for 16 years and teaches courses in civil and constitutional law, along with veterans' benefits law, the White House news release said.
