JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a 21-year-old man is facing several charges after he was stopped for speeding on Atlantic Beach Wednesday morning.

Officials said Giovanni Lamandita's car was searched after he failed to provide a valid driver's license. During that search, deputies said they found a large amount of Visa and American Express gift cards in the back seat.

JSO said Lamandita told them he got the cards from a man at Walmart who asked him to retrieve money from an ATM, and that if he did so, he would provide Lamandita a cut.

JSO said the Secret Service swiped the cards and found they were re-programmed with credit card numbers.

During questioning, officials said Lamandita investigators that if he was granted bail, he would get out and fly out of the country before anything could happen to him.

Lamandita is charged with trafficking in or possession of counterfeit credit cards.
