Police search for gun-wielding man who robbed store

Circle K on Philips Highway robbed at gunpoint last week


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police are searching for a man they said robbed a Circle K store on Philips Highway last week.

Police said about 1 a.m. June 12, the sheriff's office responded to the reported armed robbery at the store.

Their investigation revealed that a few minutes after entering the store, the man approached the counter and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes.

As the clerk reached for the cigarettes, the man mumbled "give me all the cash" and pointed a handgun toward the clerk, police said. The clerk complied with the man's demands and the man left the store.

He was last seen crossing Philips Highway.

The man is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds, unshaven and wearing a black shirt and baggy jeans.
