FORT MORGAN, Ala. – A 10-year-old boy is dead in Alabama after a freak Tropical Storm Cindy incident, authorities say.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said the boy was vacationing with his family in the 3100 block of Ponce De Leon Court off Fort Morgan Road when he walked outside of the family's condo and was killed.
Authorities say it all happened within a few feet of the condo's door.
The sheriff's office said a huge wave came in and pushed a log on the beach into and over the boy while his father stood nearby.
The boy’s father was attending to other children, but rushed to his son’s side, took him into the house and tried to revive him.
The family called emergency workers who also tried to revive the boy, but could not. He died at the scene.
