Woman steals taxi, starts picking up passengers
Police say woman stole cab from gas station
A Philadelphia woman stole a taxi from a gas station and picked up paying passengers, reports The Associated Press.
Police say the woman, 65, hailed a cab around midnight and asked the driver to stop at a gas station before taking her to the SugarHouse Casino. At one point, the woman got into the driver's seat and drove away.
Thirty minutes later, police stopped the stolen cab and found a 23-year-old passenger and her daughter in the backseat.
The young woman said she hadn't realized the taxi was stolen.
