Retirement ceremony held for Coast Guard K-9

ST. MARYS, Ga. – A chief explosive detection K-9 stationed at Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team Kings Bay received a round of applause during his retirement ceremony Thursday in St. Marys, Georgia, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

Tommy was recognized for his many accomplishments during his 9-year military career.

During the ceremony, Lt. Cmdr. Scot Druckrey, commanding officer of the MSST Kings Bay, pinned a Coast Guard Commendation Medal on Tommy's collar. 

Tommy went on 24 deployments during his service in the Coast Guard.
