Jacksonville man wins $2 million from $10 scratch-off

Lottery officials say he bought the winning ticket at Publix

A Jacksonville man is likely set for life after winning more than $2 million from a $10 scratch-off ticket.

Garrett McKie, 28, bought the winning ticket at the Publix on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway in Orange Park, according to the Florida Lottery.

McKie chose to collect his prize as a one-time sum of $1.6 million in lieu of receiving smaller installments over a prolonged time frame.

McKie's odds of winning the top prize in the Gold Rush Doubler contest, which began in January, were slim -- in fact, they were, 1-in-3,510,000.
