Marijuana grow house shut down; 184 plants found, deputies say

Tips prompt joint operation that leads to arrest

MACCLENNY, Fla. – A Baker County marijuana grow house was shut down Monday by the sheriff's office and wildlife officials in a joint operation, deputies said.

The house, at 13607 State Road 121 North in Macclenny, was being watched by the Baker County Sheriff's Office and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission after tips that a man was growing marijuana on the property and in the house.

It was also reported that that man, Sherdon “Vance” Morris, was illegally hunting and poaching on and around the wooded area of the property, deputies said.

Deputies and wildlife officials served a search warrant at the property Monday and arrested Morris.

They found:

  • 184 Marijuana Plants
  • 30-06 Rifle
  • ½ gram of Methamphetamine
  • Misc. types of prescription medication
  • 3.8 Grams of Processed Marijuana
