Tractor trailer overturns, blocks traffic in Nassau County

Truck driver hospitalized with serious injuries


NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A tractor trailer that overturned in Nassau County blocked traffic on Tuesday morning.

The tractor trailer was hauling trash collided with a black GMC Silverado as the tractor-trailer attempted to pass the Silverado on County Road 121 near the intersection of Stokes Road around 6:25 a.m. Tuesday.

The tractor-trailer, traveling northbound, was attempting to pass the GMC on the left. Concurrently, the GMC was attempting to take a left hand turn onto Stokes Road from the northbound lane.

As a result of the collision, the the tractor trailer overturned, dumping its load of trash trash onto the roadway.

The tractor trailer came to rest, on its rooftop, across both northbound and southbound lanes, blocking the roadway. The driver of the tractor Trailer was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passengers of the GMC sustained no injuries.
