The report said three children -- ages 14, 11 and 2 -- were in the home during the incident.

The girlfriend told Neptune Beach police that she was packing a bag in the closet and Ortiz cornered her, pushed her further into the closet and shoved her three times in the chest. The officer noted red marks on the woman's right shoulder.

She said Ortiz took her phone, so she opened a window in the closet and yelled for her son to call 911.

When questioned by police, Ortiz said he put his hands on the girlfriend in a loving way, trying to get her to talk to him, and denied pushing her or taking her phone. He said the argument was overing him going to a bachelor party.

Ortiz has been placed on administrative leave.
