2 injured in Northside apartment shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people are recovering after police say they were shot at a Northside apartment complex, Wednesday night.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the Water's Edge Apartments around 9:30 p.m. where they found several shell casings at the front and at the exit of the complex. Two apartments buildings were also hit by gunfire.

Moments later, two people checked into UF Health with gunshot wounds. Police report they are expected to be okay. 

As police were responding to UF Health Downtown, to check on the victims, an officer noticed an abandoned vehicle at the on ramp to I-95 south from Broward Road that had bullet holes in it. 

Detectives are currently looking into whether or not this vehicle was involved in the shooting.
