Richards tried to solicit a woman for sex, said vulgar things to her and then became violent, according to the arrest report.

He chased the woman into a gated area near Atlantic Boulevard and Century Street, tried to pull down her pants and kick her in the face, the arrest report said.

When she tried to leave, she said he stood in her way and wouldn't let her leave, according to the report.

Officers said they observed there were injuries on the victim that coincided with the statement she gave.

Richards was booked into the Duval County Jail. He will be arraigned Oct. 12.
