Police: 3 injured in Westside crash involving JSO pickup


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three people were injured in a Friday afternoon crash involving three vehicles, one of which was a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office pickup truck, on the city's Westside, police said.

Traffic homicide detectives responded about 4:30 p.m. to the crash on Ricker Road at Townsend Road. 

According to the Sheriff's Office, a witness told police a vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting another car and the JSO pickup truck.

Police said three people were taken to Orange Park Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. It's unknown whether the officer driving the JSO pickup truck was among the three taken to the hospital. 

Detectives continue to investigate.
