Police: Man, 19, charged with murder in Waycross shooting death

WAYCROSS, Ga. – Waycross police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the Tuesday shooting death of a 34-year-old man, authorities said.

Officers answering a 911 call of someone shot on Garlington Avenue off South Georgia Parkway about 11 p.m. found Brandon Roy Foster with a gunshot wound, police said.

Police said Foster was taken to Memorial Satilla Health in serious condition, but died of his injuries shortly before midnight.

Detectives later received information that led them to arrest Kiervon Hooks, who was booked into the Ware County jail on charges of murder and aggravated assault.

Jail records show Hooks remains in custody without bond.
