Dogs to be allowed on Neptune Beach 24/7 for 6 months of year

New ordinance lifts time restrictions for leashed dogs for October-March

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla – The Neptune Beach City Council hsa approved an ordinance to lift time restrictions for dogs on the beach for certain months of the year.

Most of the year, leashed dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the winter). That's the same policy as Jacksonville Beach.

Atlantic Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach and St. Augustine beaches have no time constraints, although Anastasia State Park does not allow dogs on its beaches per the Florida State Parks policy.

Neptune Beach will now allow dogs on the beach 24/7 from October through March. The before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. restrictions remain in effect during the other six months of the year, including the busy summer season.
