Storms firing up west of I-95

Hurricane Nate strengths in the Gulf and will deliver local storms Sunday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla

Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy skies, southerly winds as highs reach upper 80s. There's a 40% storm chance for areas near I-75 as Hurricane Nate's outer western bands move on-shore from the Gulf of Mexico. These storms could fire up as early 4 p.m. lasting through the evening with winds up to 20 mph along the coast.

Sunday: These same storms will shift towards Jacksonville during the evening hours and again some could be severe. Gusty winds along with thunder and lighting will likely accompany these storms. Highs will once again top out near 90°.

Beach Update: Surf will fade, but rip currents will remain, stay safe when surfing. Red flags will be up for swimmers. Surf will fade from 6' in the morning to less than 3' Sunday afternoon.
