Police search for man accused of kidnapping, sexually assaulting girl

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are looking for a man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a girl Monday afternoon, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

The juvenile was walking near West 45th Street, just west of Moncrief Road, about 4 p.m. when a man drove up and threw a cellphone out of the car window, police said.

The man got out of the car then forced the girl inside and drove her to a location in the downtown area, possibly near the Florida State College at Jacksonville campus on West State Street, police said.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the man sexually assaulted the girl in the downtown area and later released her.

Police said the man was was described as a light-skinned adult with a bald head, a "dirty face," and wearing rectangular glasses. The vehicle was described as a four-door, dark-blue sedan.
