Big changes could be coming to Jacksonville Beach Golf Course

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Big changes could be coming to the Jacksonville Beach Golf Course.

Jacksonville Beach City Council members have been working with course designers to come up with some ways to remodel the course and practice areas.

A proposal shows the last three holes of the course would see the most changes. The proposal includes moving the green more away from nearby homes and planting trees to better protect the house.

The proposal also calls for water hazards to be extended to make the end of the course more interesting.

News4Jax was told the work would begin in early January. Construction would take three to four months and then another three to four months would be needed to allow the new greens to grow.

The hope is to have the course reopened by September.
