Former Jacksonville City Councilman Jim Tullis laid to rest
Scott orders flags flown at half-staff for councilman who died Saturday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former state Rep. Jim Tullis, a longtime Republican city leader who died Saturday, was laid to rest Thursday in Jacksonville.
Tullis, 75, served in the House in 1999 and 2000 after a lengthy stint on the Jacksonville City Council, including serving as City Council president.
Gov. Rick Scott on Wednesday ordered flags to be flown at half-staff Thursday at the state Capitol, the Duval County Courthouse and Jacksonville City Hall.
A viewing was held Wednesday night at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home on San Jose Boulevard.
Tullis' funeral was at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Johns Cathedral in downtown Jacksonville, with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery on Hendricks Avenue.
