JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – ArtRepublic announced Wednesday that the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed on as presenting partners for this year’s 12-day Art Exposition.

Officials with the non-profit organization said that the partnership with the Jaguars will include the creation of a mural in the core of Downtown. The mural was specifically curated to reflect the heart of the Jacksonville community.

“The Jaguars are committed to the transformation of downtown Jacksonville into a thriving, world-class city, and that includes an investment in the arts,” Jaguars President Mark Lamping said. “We’re excited to support ArtRepublic artists this year as they create a mural that celebrates the spirit of Jacksonville and contributes to the quality of life in the downtown urban core.”

In efforts to continue the work being done in Downtown and surrounding areas, ArtRepublic has partnered with Pam Paul, Florida Blue and S.P. Livingston Elementary School to commission three new murals to elevate the underserved neighborhood.

Jacksonville-based artists Brooke Ramsey, Mark Ferriera and Cody Monohan have already began on the murals this week.

"I feel privileged to work with ArtRepublic this year alongside many artists I admire,” Ferreira said. “ArtRepublic is doing incredible things for the city of Jacksonville by crafting this exhibition that is invested in seeing the city and the local art scene succeed."

ArtRepublic officials say it strives to continuously partner artists and organizations alike to create meaningful relationships while producing immersive pieces of artwork.

“Revitalizing downtown with art has brought beauty, culture and pride to the area,” Florida Blue market president Darnell Smith said. “Florida Blue is proud to partner with ArtRepublic as it creates murals in schools in the Newtown community, bringing art into the world of these students so they, too, can develop beauty, culture and pride in their community.”

ArtRepublic officials said the collaborations play a huge role in the branding of the city, utilizing its greatest assets to push forward a movement of the revitalization in the Downtown area. The efforts also contribute to the building of the Jacksonville brand of art plus tech equals wellness.

Partners like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Florida Blue play vital roles in those initiatives due to their already advanced contributions to the city.

The mural installations will begin on Nov. 1, with an opening ceremony during ArtWalk in Hemming Park, in correlation with Jacksonville Symphony's Performance.

During the 11 days to follow, the organization will also host a Digital Art Exhibition sponsored by U.S. Trust, AVL, Touchton Surgery Center and Ackerman Cancer Center featuring leading digital artists Miguel Chevalier, Krista KIm, Fabian Forban and REO. The organization also signed on Estee Lauder and Glenfiddich as title sponsors for their annual Fashion Design Gala taking place at the historic Prime Osborn Convention center.
