JSO officer in unmarked car hits bicyclist near Budweiser Brewery

44-year-man taken to UF Health North for treatment

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A police officer driving an unmarked car hit a bicyclist Wednesday on North Main Street, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The officer was driving south about 7:16 a.m. when he struck a 44-year-old man riding his bike north in the southbound lane near the Budweiser Brewery, police said.

The bicyclist was taken to UF Health North with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. 
Authorities have not released the officer or bicyclist’s names.
