Jacksonville police respond to report of shots fired near Stanton College Prep

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police responded Wednesday afternoon to a report of shots fired near Stanton College Preparatory School, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Officers were called about 3:30 p.m. to the area of the high school, which is located on West 13th Street near North Myrtle Avenue in Northwest Jacksonville.

The school was placed on lockdown, but it has since been lifted.

Police could be seen placing evidence markers in a nearby street and looking for shell casings as football players practiced on the school's football field.

No injuries were reported. 

It's unclear who fired the shots.

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
