JFRD: 1 rescued from car after retention pond crash

2nd person also sent to hospital after Normandy Boulevard crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people were taken to the hospital Monday morning after a crash that sent a car into a retention pond near Normandy Park, authorities said.

The crash was reported on Normandy Boulevard.

According to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, a person was pulled from the car and two people were taken to the hospital.

Deep tire marks were left along the retention pond bank after a wrecker came and removed the car from the pond.

A silver Dodge Charger could be seen on the bank of the pond, but it's unclear how it might have been involved.

Police investigating at the scene would not release any details about the crash.

The scene was cleared by 10 a.m. and the crash did not have much affect on traffic Monday morning.
