Convenience store employees arrested after staging deposit bag snatching, police say

3 arrested in bizarre conspiracy

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – A convenience store employee and an accomplice were arrested after police found that the pair had staged a snatching of the store's bank deposit bag Friday afternoon, police said.

According to police, Dillia Chisolm reported that "she was standing outside of the business smoking a cigarette when a black male snatched the business’ deposit bag in her possession. According to the complainant, the male subject fled on foot just north of the business. Several officers, Investigators and K-Rico responded to the location just moments after the incident but were unsuccessful in locating the subject."

Further investigation revealed that the robbery was staged, police said.

Police said that during the investigation, they determined a link between two store employees, Chisolm and Janie Williams, who were arrested Nov. 21.

Chislom has been charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Janie Williams, who was off duty on the day of the incident, has been charged with false statements and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.  Demarious Polite was also arrested on the same day and charged with false statements and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.  

None of the money has been recovered.
