JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A man accused of murdering 32-year-old Glen McNeil Jr. on July 5 over a gold chain was in court Wednesday.

Javoris Deandre Price, 18, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, attempted murder and armed robbery charges in connection with McNeil's death.

According to police, McNeil was shot and killed about 1 a.m. outside Surfer The Bar, near the intersection of First Avenue North and First Street. A second man, Corey Lawson, was shot in the hand but has recovered.

Price is one of three men arrested in connection with McNeil's death.

Kejuan Marques Jones, 16, and Darius Kenard Jackson, 17, were also charged with attempted murder and armed robbery.

According to the arrest report, police began to consider Price a suspect after interviewing witnesses eight days after the shooting. Police said a warrant obtained to search Price's Facebook account revealed he was talking to people four hours after the shooting trying to sell two handguns: a 9mm Glock and a .40-caliber Glock. It's not known if either gun was used in McNeil's death and police have not said if the murder weapon was recovered.
