Jacksonville, Fla. – A fire destroyed a home in Hogan Creek early Monday morning. Flames broke out around 3 a.m. at the corner of West 17th Street and Jupiter Avenue.

Flames were so intense that they spread to the house next door. The first home was engulfed in flames when the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department got to the scene. Both fires are out at this time.

Firefighters believe the first home was abandoned and no one was inside the second house. They are unsure if someone currently lives there.

The state fire marshal is now investigating the cause of the fire.
