BUNNELL, Fla. – Investigators are searching for a man who robbed a cook at gunpoint while taking out the trash, then forced his way into the restaurant where he works and robbed the owner, the Bunnell Police Department said.

The man held up the cook outside of the Terranova restaurant on North Main Street at about 9:41 p.m. with a silver revolver and demanded money, police said.

The cook handed over $30 to the suspect, who then forced his way into the restaurant, police said.

The suspect found the owner, forced him to hand over an undetermined amount of cash from his desk, and then ran out the back door, police said.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office assisted while a K-9 unit unsuccessfully tried to find the gunman.

Authorities said the suspected robber is described as a black male, 6 feet tall and weighs about 250 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bunnell Police Department at 386-437-7508.
