Shots fired outside Grand Park Education Center prompt lockdown

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Shots fired outside a Duval County career center prompted a lockdown Wednesday in the Grand Park neighborhood of Northwest Jacksonville, police said.

The Grand Park Education Center is on West 18th Street, near the Johnnie Walker Community Center.

Police said someone in an older model white Crown Victoria drove by the center around 10:38 a.m. and fired four to five shots in the air from the street, then kept driving.

Police said none of the students at the career center were hurt.

They collected evidence at the scene and the lockdown was lifted around noon.
