Warrant served at Baymont Inn and Suites room; 3 arrested

Trio faces charges after guns, narcotics discovered Monday

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – Investigators in Glynn County served a search warrant at a room at the Baymont Inn and Suites and found a slew of drugs, along with two handguns, authorities said Tuesday.

Three people were arrested, according to a statement from the Glynn County Police Department.

The narcotics enforcement team served the warrant about midnight Monday at 105 Center Drive, and discovered crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, hydromorphine, oxycodone and amphetamine, along with the firearms.

Ronald Eric Thompson faces the most charges, which include: trafficking methamphetamine, possession of amphetamine, possession of a Schedule II narcotic with the intent to distribute (hydromorphine), possession of a Schedule II narcotic with the intent to distribute (oxycodone), possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II narcotic with the intent to distribute (cocaine), two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug-related objects.

Amber Johnson will be charged with possession of a Schedule II narcotic (methamphetamine) and possession of drug-related objects, officials said.

Ashley Layton faces counts of possession of a Schedule II narcotic with the intent to distribute (methamphetamine) and possession of drug-related objects.
