Thursday marks deadline for holiday shipping

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If you want your Christmas gifts to get where they need to be on time, some of Santa's best helpers need you to get a move on it.

Thursday is the deadline for United States Postal Service Retail Ground shipments. This comes amid an influx of holiday shopping online.

Here's a look at the deadlines, which are just around the corner:

FedEx
    Dec. 15: Ground
    Dec. 19: Express Saver
    Dec. 20: Two-day
    Dec. 21: Overnight shipping deadline

U.S. Postal Service
Dec. 14: USPS Retail Ground shipments
    Dec. 19: First Class
    Dec. 20: Priority Mail
    Dec. 22: Priority Mail Express

UPS
Dec. 18: UPS 3 Day Select
    Dec. 20: 2nd Day Air
    Dec. 21: Next Day Air

Remember, this is important because delays have already plagued shipping companies this holiday season.

UPS said from the beginning, Black Friday and Cyber Monday orders were a lot higher than expected.  Some people told News4Jax they placed two-day shipping orders, only to have their orders show up a week late

UPS has brought in extra workers and said that the majority of packages are getting to where they need to be on time.
