ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 24-year-old St. Johns County man is accused of soliciting a child for sex and traveling to meet the child, investigators said Monday.
Dakota Colton Lewis was arrested by authorities with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office who look into internet crimes against children.
Lewis, who lives on Berry Ridge Court, is also accused of the unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Last month, a detective started talking to a man online, who was later identified as Lewis. Deputies didn’t specify which site they used.
After about two weeks of communication between Lewis and the undercover detective, Lewis solicited a
meeting for the purpose of sexually abusing the child, investigators said.
Lewis was arrested Monday and booked at the St. Johns County Jail without the possibility to post bond, pending a first appearance hearing on Tuesday morning.
