JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three people were arrested after Jacksonville police officer was hurt when his patrol car struck a light pole during a pursuit hit 90 mph late Tuesday night in the North Shore area, authorities said.

The crash happened about 11:50 p.m. on North Laura Street off North Main Street, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office stated.

Police said the officer was chasing a driver, who was later identified as 19-year-old Marquan Daniels, when his vehicle collided with the pole, damaging his vehicle and a pickup parked in a driveway nearby.

According to JSO, Daniels eventually stopped on North Main Street, and Kenneth Lee Jr. and a juvenile go out and ran. The Sheriff's Office said Lee and the juvenile were caught by officers, and charged with resisting police.

Police said Daniels stayed in the car. He's charged with DUI, eluding police, possession of marijuana and driving without a license.

The officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, but is expected to recover.

Utility crews were out overnight restoring power and repairing the pole.
