FHP: Lake City man dies after single-vehicle crash on Normandy Boulevard

Toyota RAV4 went off road, struck tree, troopers say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Lake City man died after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Normandy Boulevard on Jacksonville's Westside, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash, which was reported about 2:45 p.m., blocked the eastbound and westbound lanes of Normandy Boulevard at McClelland Road, just east of U.S. 301.

Troopers said Dyron Boutte, 69, was driving a Toyota RAV4 east on Normandy Boulevard when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered across the westbound lane, went off the road and hit a tree.

Boutte, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to Orange Park Medical Center, where he died, troopers said.

All lanes of Normandy Boulevard reopened by 5 p.m.
