2 killed in 3-vehicle rollover crash in Bunnell, FHP says

BUNNELL, Fla. – Two men died Friday night after their pickup truck stopped in the westbound lane of State Road 100 waiting to turn left just west of Palatka was rear-ended by a car that failed to stop, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 7:31 p.m. at the intersection of S.R. 100 and County Road 35.

Troopers said the Chevrolet S-10 struck by a Hyundai Accent was pushed into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado that couldn't stop in time. The driver of the S-10, Ralph Pellicer, 43, of Bunnell, and one passenger, Jobe Podach, 35, of Holly Hill, were ejected and died at the scene, according to the FHP report. A second passenger, Cody Iglesias, 26, of Bunnell, was taken to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona with serious injuries.

After impact, the car struck the guardrail and the Silverado flipped onto the driver's side and landed in a ditch.

The driver of the car, Jennifer McFann, 48, of Crescent City, was also taken to Halifax in Daytona with serious injuries, troopers said. The FHP report indicates that a blood-alcohol test and charges are pending.

The 18-year-old driver of the Silverado had only minor injures, but his passenger was taken to Halifax in Daytona.
