PALATKA, Fla. – Days after announcing that the Blue Crab Festival, a tradition for the past 29 years in Palatka, would not be held in its 30th year, organizers said the event will run Memorial Day Weekend.
Citing "an overwhelming amount of support," the committee for the event announced on the Blue Crab Festival Facebook page that the festival would be held in 2018.

"We still need sponsors and volunteers, if interested email haley@bluecrabfestival.com...Almost 100,000 people saw and responded to our post last week so we are working diligently to get back to you! We look forward to new friendships, partnerships and opportunities this year and many more to come!"
