Jacksonville Beach city manager to retire

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – The city manager of Jacksonville Beach will be retiring. 

City Manager George Forbes will relinquish his duties on Aug. 1.

The announcement came during Monday evening's meeting of the Jacksonville Beach City Council.

Forbes has held the office for 23 years. He's the longest-serving city manager of Jacksonville Beach

There's no word yet on who will replace him.
