JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman was injured in an officer-involved crash Tuesday night on Atlantic Boulevard, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
The crash happened about 9:40 p.m. at Spring Forest Avenue.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the driver of a white Chevrolet sedan was at a stop sign on Spring Forest Avenue and then attempted to to turn left onto Atlantic Boulevard.
The white car pulled out in front of a JSO sport utility vehicle heading west on Atlantic Boulevard and that's when the two vehicles collided, police said.
Police said the woman driving the white car was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two children were also in the car, but were evaluated at the scene by paramedics, police said.
The officer driving the JSO sport utility vehicle was reportedly OK.
Traffic homicide detectives are investigating, which is standard protocol for an officer-involved crash.
